Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc remains committed to renewing the province’s partnership with the People's Republic of China, as he met with Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian at the Ambassador's Official Residence in Makati City, Metro Manila yesterday.

Gov. Marcos Manotoc and Ambassador Huang set expectations in mutual sectors namely, tourism, agriculture, and energy as the Ilocos Norte delegation visits Shandong and Guangdong provinces in China on May 17 and 19. Moreover, they talked about the deep friendship between the Philippines and the People’s Republic of China.

The Governor will be accompanied by representatives from the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte's food and agriculture, renewable energy, tourism and creative industries, trade and investment promotion, and education sectors.

The trade mission is seen to further strengthen the relationships between Shandong Province, a sister province of Ilocos Norte since 2002 and establish potential collaborations with Guangdong Province.

Gov. Marcos Manotoc also intends to encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest and seek opportunities in Ilocos Norte, particularly in agriculture, tourism, education, renewable energy, and people-to-people exchanges.
