Ilocos Norte, PPP Center partnership to bolster economic development

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), led by Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines on February 28, to attract more investors, while strengthening infrastructure and economic development in the Province.

Ilocos Norte strengthens economic ties with Hawaii, sister provinces

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, in partnership with the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (FCCH) and the Ilocos Norte Trade and Investment Promotions Office, hosted the 2nd Philippines-Hawaii Sister Province Business Symposium at Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel in Laoag City on March 3.

Ilocos Norte’s plastic recycling facility to begin operation

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), through the Ilocos Norte INVest Office, and in collaboration with the Board of Investments, and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), conducted a two-day training titled “Capacity Building of Investment Promotion for Local Government Units and IP-TWG Members,” at the Palacio de Laoag Hotel, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on June 29 and 30.

PGIN, DOST-PAGASA conduct MAAGAP seminar 

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA), conducted the “Maagang Aksyon at Akmang Gawin Ayon sa Panahon (MAAGAP)” awareness seminar at the Paoay Lake JLP Resort and Hotel, on June 29.

Gov. Marcos Manotoc leads RDC-1 2nd Quarter Meeting in Ilocos Norte 

Regional Development Council-1 (RDC) Chairperson, Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, along with RDC-1 Vice-Chairperson Mrs. Irenea B. Ubungen, led the RDC 2nd Quarter Full Council Meeting for the Calendar Year 2025 at the Fort Ilocandia Resort and Hotel in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, on June 27.

PGIN's PESO is region’s best

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte’s (PGIN) Public Employment Service Office (PESO) was recognized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region I as the "2022 Best PESO" in the Provincial Category.


The "2022 Best PESO" award validates the effectiveness of PESO's initiatives and highlights their remarkable impact on the community.

Over 2,000 jobs offered at Independence Day job fair 

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), through the Public Employment Service Office, and in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and the Department of Labor and Employment conducted a job fair at Robinsons Place Ilocos on June 12, offering 2,100 employment opportunities to Ilokano job seekers.

Solar-powered buildings to boost Ilocos Norte’s renewable energy bid

Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc met with the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Philippine National Oil Corporation (PNOC) Mr. Pedro L. Lite for the presentation of plans and financial study of the Solar Photovoltaic Installation project last April 18, a move to scale up the utilization of “clean” energy in Ilocos Norte.
